Growing up, I thought I was cursed…

For a long time, I viewed Life as a never-ending series of struggles like I’m not allowed to be happy. While it’s convenient to keep blaming my environment and how I was brought up, it shouldn’t be an excuse to stop trying. But I’m over it now.

Looking back, here are the stages I’ve gone through to get rid of my victim mentality and to keep it from resurfacing:

  • Increased awareness to prevent it from happening again.
  • Acknowledge how much I didn’t know.
  • Try again.

It’s ok to feel like a victim — but only if it’s temporary.
